He received the Minister of Culture Award at the Civil Servants Photography Exhibition in 1984 and the Highest Excellence Work Award at the Jeonnam Division Joint Exhibition in 1986. He was honored with the Service Award from the Federation of Korean Arts and Culture Organizations (YeChong) in 2004.
